The WAOW StormTrack 9 is teaming up with WeatherBug to provide real-time atmospheric data from nearly 10,000 stations across the county to viewers in the Wausau, Wisconsin area.
Lee County Public Schools Turn to WeatherBug
Thirteen high schools in Lee County, Florida, are turning to a new lightning detection system called WeatherBug to protect students from lightning and other types of severe weather. Before this system was installed, coaches only had their eyes and a phone app to go by. Kim Brown of WBBH NBC2 reports.

Dr. Tony Haymet, Director of Scripps Institution of Oceanography, discusses the Earth Networks Center for Climate Research, located at Scripps Oceanography at the University of California, San Diego. This new center will address scientific issues related to the calibration and maintenance of the network, led by co-Directors Dr. Ralph Keeling and Dr. Ray Weiss.
