Dr. Michael Stock
Principal Lightning Scientist
Dr. Michael Stock is the principal lightning scientist at Earth Networks where he is responsible for the research and development of our lightning products and services including the Earth Networks Total Lightning Network™ (ENTLN).
Dr. Stock has more than 14 years of experience conducting lightning research. Prior to joining Earth Networks he was a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Osaka in Japan. His areas of expertise include the real-time operation of VHF interferometers and the development of low frequency 3D lightning mappers. An instrument Dr. Stock created to produce detailed radio maps of lightning is currently in use by the Kennedy Space Center.
A co-author of many research papers and frequent contributor to industry conferences, Dr. Stock holds a Ph.D. in atmospheric physics, an M.S. and B.S. in physics and a B.S. in mathematics from New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology in Socorro, New Mexico.
