Senior Meteorologist, Meteorological Operations
Julie Gaddy joined the company in January 2007 as a senior meteorologist. At Earth Networks, her responsibilities include providing short-, medium- and long-range forecasts for various clients, creating written and graphical content for the general public, performing data quality review and providing managerial support.
Previously, Gaddy worked for the National Weather Service, specializing in remote sensor data applications, and in the surface transportation weather industry. She also worked part-time for Everglades University as an online instructor of meteorology for aviation students.
Gaddy earned her bachelor of science in meteorology at Florida State University, where she spent her spare time competing in intramural athletics and on the FSU Ultimate Frisbee club team. She then earned her master’s in meteorology from the University of Oklahoma, where she went on numerous storm chasing expeditions. In January 2015, she earned the nationally recognized Certified Consulting Meteorologist (CCM) designation by the American Meteorological Society.
In her spare time, Gaddy remains competitive in soccer and racquetball, and enjoys gardening and puzzle-solving events. She is also an avid chess player and is a licensed amateur radio operator.
