We love using our weather data when we study Gas Laws in Chemistry. Students are challenged to design an air bag that will inflate to the perfect volume on impact. The perfect volume depends on that day's air pressure which we get from the our station. This is a challenging assignment as students must determine the amount of chemicals that must be mixed to produce a gas that will fill their air bag. When the air pressure changes, students must change the amount of their chemicals.

We currently use the weather station to monitor local data, avg. rain fall, daily rain fall. We also use historical data to graph correlations between temperature and humidity.We also use the lightning detection feature to monitor safety of our students on playgrounds and/or sporting events when storms are approaching the area.
