Partnership Integrates Personalized Home Insights based on Real-time, Hyper-local Weather Data with Intuitive Consumer Energy Portal

St. Paul, Minn. and Germantown, Md. – June 8, 2015 – Accelerated Innovations and WeatherBug® Home are integrating their complementary technologies to provide utilities with a comprehensive consumer energy efficiency platform that provides detailed, customized energy usage insight and encourages reduced energy use. It does so while also increasing engagement and improving satisfaction via interactive energy-saving tools.

The partnership combines technology solutions from Accelerated Innovations and WeatherBug Home. Accelerated Innovations’ MyMeter® portal delivers advanced household energy usage statistics and consumption history, while allowing consumers to drill-down to understand their usage at 15-minute intervals. The MyMeter® portal will incorporate personalized home energy use insights from WeatherBug Home, which exclusively combines real-time, local weather data from its own sensor network with a home’s energy usage information to analyze how each home responds to the weather.

With WeatherBug Home, consumers learn why their house “behaves” the way it does in relation to the weather and how their home compares to similar homes. They can also see their forecasted energy usage for the next month and receive a virtual energy efficiency audit with customized tips for savings via a monthly WeatherBug Home Insight ScoreCard. Looking ahead, MyMeter® portal data will also be accessible via the WeatherBug Home section of the popular WeatherBug app for iOS and Android used by millions of consumers.
